Quarterback Chad Redinger made an immediate impact for Moscow as a sophomore, generating impressive stat totals and leading the Bears to a 4A IEL title and a trip to the playoffs.

As the signal caller gets set to embark on his junior year, there is little question that the program should once again be right in the mix to play some extra football come November.

Linemen Marsh Bennett, Kaden Kiblen and Preston Bielenberg are expected to provide some protection for Redinger, who has the ability to push the ball down the field with his legs or via the air.

Multiple talented receivers have departed to graduation for the Bears, however Logan Shears and Johan Elliss are back and ready to take on increased roles.

The team goes as the defense goes though, with the unit allowing 21 points or less in each win, but 36 or more in every loss, including three opponent offensive outputs of 50 or more.

Last year marked the first trip to state since 2012 for Moscow. The Bears do not have as much depth as what is seen in some other areas of state in the 4A classification, however the pieces that are on the roster are hard workers who are committed to bringing back-to-back league titles to the school this year.

Entering his eighth season as the head coach, Phil Helbling will lead his team into week one on August 30 at Grangeville before heading home to take on Clarkston (WA) in week two.
